NATIVE TRAILS’ NATIVESTONE™ TROUGH 4819 SINK HONORED WITH 2015 GREEN GOOD DESIGN AWARD

Nov 20, 2015

Native Trails’ NativeStone Trough 4819 sink (2014) is a winner of the 2015 GREEN GOOD Design Award, honoring the best in modern green design. NativeStone Trough 4819, created by Native Trails, the eco‐chic California company known the world over for its luxury kitchen and bath products, is part of the company’s NativeStone Collection, which debuted in 2014. The collection includes stain‐resistant, sustainable concrete sinks for the kitchen, bar and bathroom. Constructed using an innovative mixture of jute fiber and cement, Native Trails’ NativeStone sinks weigh approximately 40 percent less than sinks made using standard concrete.

The GREEN GOOD Design Award is sponsored by the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. This year hundreds of entries poured in from two‐dozen countries around the globe before the GREEN GOOD Design Award jury identified the world’s most significant examples of sustainable modern design.

Native Trails’ NativeStone Trough 4819 concrete bathroom sink retails for $1,745, is handcrafted of NativeStone and is available in three finishes: Ash, Slate and Pearl. Already highly‐acclaimed, Trough 4819 has received several honors, including Design Journal and Archinterious Best Products of 2014, Interior Design Best of the Year award finalist 2014 and KB+B Product Innovator Awards Honorable Mention 2014. New to the NativeStone Collection for 2015 are Native Trails’ Palomar Vanity Top with Integral Sink, Olivos Bar & Prep Sink, Malibu Bar Sink, and Cabrillo Bath Sink.

“We are thrilled our NativeStone Trough 4819 has been recognized as a 2015 GREEN GOOD Design Award winner.” said Native Trails CEO Naomi Neilson Howard. “Our customers tell us that this line combines the perfect mix of form, function and aesthetic for the kitchen and bathroom.”

This is not the first time a Native Trails bath product has been recognized with a GREEN GOOD Design Award. In 2014, the company won awards for two bath vanities from its Renewal Series, Amelie Vanity and Halcyon Vanity. In 2013, Native Trails’ Bordeaux Wall Mount vanity—part of the Vintner’s Collection, which repurposes wine barrels into bath vanities and mirrors—was also honored with a GREEN GOOD Design Award.

About GREEN GOOD Design
In Chicago in 1950, Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr. founded GOOD DESIGN to foster a greater public understanding and acceptance for modern design. Seven decades later, the GREEN GOOD Design Awards are designed to bring a parallel public appreciation for the ideals of energy conservation, reduction of toxic waste and greenhouse gases, diminishing dependence on fossil fuels, and sensitivity for waste, pollution and depletion of energy resources. GREEN GOOD Design bestows international recognition to those outstanding individuals, companies, organizations, governments and institutions—together with their products, services, programs, ideas and concepts—that have forwarded exceptional thinking and inspired greater progress toward a healthier and more sustainable universe.
